Can you spare a little time to help out at your home?
As a rule animals don’t arrive at SCAN by appointment. Puppies and kittens are dumped in municipal rubbish bins or in boxes outside the gate. Animals are found in dire circumstances; some need more care than can be provided in the centre. This means foster carers can receive little advance warning that their services will be needed.
Newborn and very young kittens and puppies without their mothers need to spend, at least, their first few weeks of life in a foster home. Cats and dogs recovering from surgery, animals needing a special diet, or those who find life in the shelter too much to cope with, experience has taught us, all benefit from foster care.
Fosterers must live a reasonable travel distance from El Verger. Animals in foster are waiting for their forever homes and are keen to meet potential adopters. These meetings take place at the centre so fosterers must be able to get there without too much difficultly.
Fostering can be hard work of course, but is a lot of fun and enormously rewarding ........
Would you be willing to take one or more cats or dogs into your home?
Fosterers are fully supported by SCAN all the way..... and will not be required to pay for food, vets, medicines or any other essential items.
