Meet JAY
Jay is a lovely two-year-old dog who came to SCAN with his brother after their owner died. Before arriving at SCAN, they had lived with their family on a plot of land, with little experience of life beyond their home and garden.
Since then, they have encountered many unfamiliar experiences, including walking on a lead and getting used to cars, bikes and everyday noises. Although this has sometimes been confusing for them, both dogs are coping well and learning at their own pace.
Throughout these changes, their friendly personalities have continued to shine through as they gradually adjust to the world around them.
Jay is more timid than his brother and needs a little longer to build trust with our volunteers. Walks can also be tiring for him, so we take things slowly. His progress may take more time, and he needs patience as he grows in confidence.
Jay’s ideal home could include a confident dog to help show him the way. Calm but active owners could help him discover how much fun life can be, while giving him the time he needs to feel comfortable.
